Going to a restaurant with family is always a memorable experience, especially when the place has delicious food, beautiful scenery, and a relaxing atmosphere. Recently, my family visited Lanai's by Annabel's for the first time together with my brother’s colleagues and their families. For them, it was already their second visit. Even though the restaurant was far from our home and the drive was long, the trip was definitely worth it.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we did not have any reservation. The place was crowded because many people wanted to dine there. Thankfully, there were plenty of parking spaces available for customers. The restaurant also had a comfortable waiting area for people whose names were already on the waiting list. We had to wait for quite a long time before getting a table, but I did not feel bored at all because the place was very relaxing and enjoyable.
While waiting inside our family car, I was able to drink a delicious coffee frappe and charge my phone. The cool weather and peaceful surroundings made the waiting time feel shorter. One of the best things about the restaurant was its spectacular ambiance. Since it is located in a high area in the province, visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of nature. The air was fresh, clean, and calming.
The restaurant also had a large lawn that was perfect for picnics and outdoor activities. There was a playground for children where many kids were happily playing. I saw swings, a hexagon-shaped monkey bar, and a seesaw. Families could enjoy both dining and recreation at the same time. During sunset, the sky became colorful and stunning. I was able to capture amazing photos of the sunset and the beautiful evening sky.
Another thing I appreciated was the cleanliness of the restaurant, especially the restrooms. The comfort rooms had enough cubicles for both male and female customers. Tissue paper and hand soap were available in the lavatory area. The mirrors were also large and very clean. I even noticed ornamental plants inside, which added beauty to the place. Inside the restaurant, the lighting created a warm and elegant atmosphere.
As for the food, I only tasted a few dishes because I was not the one who ordered them. However, the dishes I tried were all delicious. I especially liked the kare-kare with bagoong. The banana blossom in the dish was tender and flavorful. I also tasted another noodle dish that other people thought was palabok. It contained shrimps that were soft and easy to chew.
My favorite dish was the bulalo. I really enjoyed the beef shank and the bone marrow, also known as utak ng baka. It was cooked very well because the marrow easily slid out of the bone without needing a spoon. The soup was savory, rich, and comforting, especially in the cool provincial weather.
The staff members were also kind and accommodating. The waiters regularly refilled our glasses with water whenever we ran out of drinks. They were also friendly enough to take group pictures for us when we requested them.
Before leaving the restaurant, I noticed many colorful desserts displayed near the counter. There were cakes, croissants, and other sweets that looked very delicious. People who love desserts would surely enjoy trying them. I hope to visit the restaurant again someday so I can taste more of their dishes, desserts, and drinks.
Overall, our dining experience at Lanai's by Annabel's was relaxing, enjoyable, and memorable. The restaurant offers not only delicious food but also beautiful scenery, fresh air, and excellent customer service. It is truly a wonderful place for families and friends who want to spend quality time together.
