Introduction

Most Filipinos love celebrating special occasions with their friends, family, and loved ones. Celebrations are a way to show gratitude, appreciation, and share blessings with others. During town fiestas, birthdays, and family gatherings, many delicious dishes and desserts are prepared.

Filipinos are known for loving sweet foods, so traditional Filipino delicacies are often served during celebrations. One of the most popular desserts in the Philippines is Leche Flan. It is similar to caramel custard, a famous dessert enjoyed around the world.

How to Make Leche Flan

Leche flan is not very difficult to make. The ingredients include eggs, sugar, condensed milk, and evaporated milk. Some people use duck eggs instead of chicken eggs. You also need aluminum molds called llaneras, aluminum foil, and a steamer.

First, crack the eggs into a bowl and beat them using a fork or an egg beater. Next, add the condensed milk and mix well. Then add the evaporated milk.

After preparing the mixture, place one or two tablespoons of sugar into the llanera. Heat the llanera on low fire until the sugar melts and turns into caramel. Spread the caramel evenly in the container.

Let it cool for a few minutes, then pour in the egg and milk mixture. Cover the llanera with aluminum foil. Steam the mixture for about 45 minutes.

After cooking, let the leche flan cool in the refrigerator. Finally, serve it and enjoy eating it with your family and friends.
