Lesson Procedure
1. Warm-Up (5 Minutes)
Small Talk Challenge
Students ask one classmate:
“How are you today?”
- “What did you do this morning?”
2. Presentation (10 Minutes)
Teacher Script
“In networking situations, asking questions is very important. Good communication is not only talking. It is also listening.”

3. Listening Practice (10 Minutes)
Teacher Reads Dialogue
Mia: “Hello. Is this seat taken?”
John: “No, please have a seat.”
Mia: “Thank you. I’m Mia from GlobalTech.”
John: “Nice to meet you. I’m John from Pacific Solutions.”
Mia: “Is this your first time attending this seminar?”
John: “Yes, it is. How about you?”
Mia: “It’s my second time here.”

4. Guided Speaking Practice (10 Minutes)
Students practice the dialogue with partners.
Extension
Students create two additional questions.
Examples:
- “What topics are you interested in?”
- “Which company do you represent?”
5. Networking Circle Activity (10 Minutes)
Students form two circles.
Inner circle stays still.
Outer circle moves every two minutes.
Students must:
- greet
- introduce themselves
- ask two follow-up questions
- end politely
Closing Expressions
- “It was nice talking with you.”
- “I hope we can talk again soon.”
- “Enjoy the seminar.”
6. Assessment (3 Minutes)
Teacher evaluates:
- fluency
- confidence
- interaction skills
- use of follow-up questions
7. Homework (2 Minutes)
