A Fun Family Trip to Tagaytay and an Amazing AI Discovery

Introduction

Last weekend, I had a wonderful and memorable day with my father and relatives. Early in the morning, my father suddenly told me that we were invited to my cousin's birthday celebration in Tagaytay. I was excited because Tagaytay is one of my favorite places to visit.

Getting Ready

After hearing the news, I quickly prepared myself. I applied some makeup, including Belo Tinted Sunscreen, LA Girl Gel Eyeliner, O.TWO.O and Nichido Cream Lip and Cheek Blush, O.TWO.O Powder Contour, and eyebrow products.

At first, I thought my makeup looked a little strange. My father jokingly said that my face looked too white and that I looked like a mannequin! Even though I felt a little embarrassed, I laughed and continued getting ready.

I wore a beige dress from Regatta and a comfortable pair of Skechers shoes.

Lunch Stop at Paseo Sta. Rosa

We left home at around 10:30 in the morning. Since we were already hungry, we stopped at Paseo Sta. Rosa along the way.

We ate delicious braised beef at Ben's Halo-Halo. The meal was satisfying and gave us energy for the rest of the trip. We also paid a parking fee of 20 pesos before continuing our journey.

Exploring Tagaytay

Tagaytay is one of my father's and my favorite destinations because it is close to our hometown and offers many restaurants serving different cuisines.

Before going to the birthday venue, we visited Ayala Malls. We enjoyed window shopping and explored several stores, including a medical supplies shop, a bookstore, and stores selling smartphone accessories.

Unfortunately, I could not find a protective case for my Poco X5 Pro phone. However, I did see an affordable hospital bed and a banner about PhilHealth benefits. Reading about the support available through PhilHealth made me think about how important healthcare programs are for many families.

Inside Ayala malls, there was a talented musician was performing to raise funds for a cancer patient. I hoped that many people would donate to support the cause.

A musical instrument store called lLyrics can also be found there. Then inside a bookstore where I tried to browse for interesting books, I remembered that senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) can receive discounts. I spent a few minutes browsing books and school supplies before leaving.

Although we stayed only a short time, the parking fee was 50 pesos.

Waiting for the Birthday Celebration

Eventually, we arrived at Rosario Pamanang Panlasa, the restaurant where the birthday party would be held. However, we learned that the meal would start at 4:00 PM.

Since we still had time, my father and I crossed the street to Robinsons Tagaytay.

There, we bought winter melon milk tea. Because of my dental concerns, I asked the staff not to include the toppings. The drink was refreshing and satisfying, especially on a warm afternoon.

After taking a few photos, we returned to the restaurant.

A Delicious Birthday Feast

When we arrived, we were guided to our designated table. Many Filipino dishes were served.

My favorite dishes were sisig and pancit. The bulalo soup was warm, savory, and comforting. My relatives ordered many different dishes, and everyone enjoyed sharing the food together.

The birthday celebration was a wonderful opportunity to spend time with family and celebrate my cousin's special day.

Taking Beautiful Photos

After eating, many of my relatives started taking photos. We used the beautiful scenery as our background, including the famous view of Taal Volcano, the surrounding natural landscapes, and some elegant furniture around the venue.

Everyone wanted to capture memories of the special occasion.

Before leaving, we also received takeaway food. We brought home milkfish sisig and lumpiang ubod, which made the trip even better.

Discovering Google Gemini in Our Car

Something exciting happened during our drive home.

I noticed a microphone icon on the touchscreen display inside our car. Out of curiosity, I pressed it and started talking.

To my surprise, the system responded!

The voice assistant was powered by Google Gemini. It worked best when connected to a strong 5G internet connection.

I learned that by saying "Activate voice guidance," the system could provide spoken directions whenever we needed to turn left or right.

I also discovered that Gemini could understand Filipino. I asked questions such as:

  • Where is the nearest fast-food restaurant?

  • What is our current location?

  • How is the traffic in my hometown?

  • What places are nearby?

The AI responded quickly and made the trip much more interesting. It felt like having a smart travel companion inside the car.

Conclusion

My unexpected trip to Tagaytay turned into a fantastic day filled with family, delicious food, beautiful scenery, and exciting technology.

From exploring stores and enjoying Filipino dishes to discovering the capabilities of Google Gemini, the experience was both enjoyable and educational.

It was truly a day that I will remember for a long time.
