My Activities Today: Helping Others, Shopping Apps, and Small Surprises

Introduction

Today was a meaningful and exciting day because I experienced different activities with my family. I learned that even simple actions, like praying for sick people, giving a small donation to unfortunate people, using shopping apps, and discovering new places, can create happy memories.

Visiting the Hospital and Helping Others

My brother informed me that he and our father would go to a hospital in San Pablo. I decided to join them because I wanted to pray for sick people.

We left our house at 2:00 PM. We parked the car near a church in the city. There were many unfortunate people asking for money near the church. I gave one of the coins I had. I felt sympathy for one person because he said that he was a person with a disability. I could understand his situation because I also have a disability, but I feel fortunate because I have many blessings in my life.

Buying Snacks and Fruits

After that, we went to a 7-Eleven store. I bought a Four Seasons Fit and Right drink and a salmon mayo onigiri. The rice ball cost about 68 pesos.

Next, my brother and I went to the public market. We bought fruits such as oranges, grapes, and bananas. We brought the fruits to the community hospital as a gift for the mother of my brother’s friend.

While I was there, I remembered Archangel Raphael, who is known in many traditions as a symbol of healing. I searched for his image on the internet and saved a picture with a prayer for healing the sick.

Eating at SM City

Our next stop was SM City. My family was hungry, so we ate at Pepper Lunch. I ordered beef curry pepper lunch and cucumber lemonade.

My brother invited me to try matcha-flavored kakigori. We chose the sharing size. While eating, we discovered that there were sweetened beans underneath the shaved ice. It was an interesting surprise!

While waiting, I took pictures and videos of cute mascots dancing. It was fun to watch them.

Discovering Shopping Apps

After eating, we searched for an Asahi electric fan at the SM Department Store and ACE section. I was excited because I remembered that I had the SMAC and Shop app. I could use it in SM stores and supermarkets to earn points.

Unfortunately, we were not able to buy anything.

Then we went to Puregold because we needed to buy Gardenia pandesal. I wondered if Puregold had an app, and I discovered that it did. I registered, but I could not complete verification because I did not have my government ID with me for scanning.

A Lucky Surprise at the Lotto Shop

Inside Puregold, I felt bored, so I visited the lotto shop. I bought a ₱20 scratch ticket called “Go Bananas.”

To my surprise, I won! The ticket showed three ₱100 prizes with a 2x bonus. I collected a cash prize of ₱200. It was not a huge amount, but it made me very happy.

Other Discoveries

I also saw a TGP kiosk inside Puregold. They had a promotion poster. I remembered that I previously used their affordable blood test service in my town, which included a free doctor consultation.

On our way home, we ate French fries.

I also remembered that Ayala Malls has an app. Today, I discovered more apps that can help shoppers.

Some apps already existed way back in 2023:

  • When I used my Abenson’s app, I received a free Christmas basket.

  • When I used my Go Rewards app at Handyman, I received a free set of colorful flower-designed kitchen utensils.

Small rewards can make shopping experiences more enjoyable.
