1. Install BlackHole

Download and install the free BlackHole 2ch driver.
Restart your MacBook Pro if it is your first time installing the driver. [1, 2]

2. Create a Multi-Output Device

Open Audio MIDI Setup (press Command + Space, type the app name, and press Enter).
Click the + button in the bottom-left corner and select Create Multi-Output Device.
In the panel on the right, check both BlackHole 2ch and your regular speakers/headphones (e.g., MacBook Pro Speakers).
Check the Drift Correction box next to BlackHole 2ch. [1, 2]

3. Route System Output

Go to System Settings > Sound > Output.
Select your newly created Multi-Output Device so audio plays from your speakers while simultaneously routing to BlackHole. [1]

4. Record the Audio or Screen

Open a recording tool like QuickTime Player (File > New Screen Recording or New Audio Recording), or OBS Studio.
Choose BlackHole 2ch as your microphone/input source.
Hit record. When finished, revert your sound output settings back to your default built-in speakers. [1, 2]
