1. Warm-Up Discussion (8 mins)

“Today we will focus on advanced workplace communication. Think about situations where communication problems happen at work.”

  • What communication skills are important for leaders?
  • Which is harder: speaking or writing professionally?

Pair Activity

Students discuss for 2 minutes.

Follow-Up Script

“Please share one communication problem and one possible solution.”

2. Key Expressions Practice (10 mins)

Expressions

  • “Let me clarify that.”
  • “To avoid confusion…”
  • “From a strategic perspective…”
  • “Could you elaborate on that?”
  • “I’d like to propose an alternative.”

Controlled Practice Script

Teacher:
 “I will say an informal sentence. Please change it into professional language.”

Examples:

     → “Could you clarify that for me?”

  • “That won’t work.”
     → “I’m concerned that approach may present challenges.”

3. Workplace Scenario Role-Play (20 mins)

“You must solve the problem professionally. Use clarification and negotiation expressions.”
